Default Harsh Sentence For Pacman Does Titans a Favor

Rest of story here

Quote:
NFL coaches hate uncertainty and the loathe distractions. They like to plan everything out months if not years in advance. Now, the Titans know that they'll build their 2007 team without their most talented, but most troubled cornerback. From a pure talent standpoint that may be bad, but it allows the Titans to put the Pacman questions behind them. The entire offseason has been spent answering (or more often avoiding) questions about what the team will do with Rain-man. Now that's all over--Jones won't be around the team for at least 10 weeks of the season, and will miss the entire season unless Goodell decides to grant an appeal. According to ESPN, the suspension could get even longer if the Las Vegas case leads to a conviction.
Pacman better be praying that he isn't convicted of the Las Vegas charges. Otherwise the Titans will waive him.

"Pac-man" is a pretty good nick name for whenever he goes to the big house...

Overall, i'd say a very fair punishment handed out to Pacman Jones.

I don't agree with that.

Pacman's problems have been a public relations disaster for his team and the NFL, and that's just the start of it. He's had more police contacts than either Henry or Johnson, some of which have had life-threatening outcomes. He was stupid enough to go Mike Tyson on a police officer, and he was stupid enough to threaten someone's life on camera. It took the threat of suspension to make him realize he needs to clean up his act, and there's no telling if he'll actually do that.

Henry was one of many Bengals in trouble. Pacman singlehandedly pissed off the entire NFL.

He got what he deserved.

No, Pacman ended up being the poster child for everything that's wrong with the NFL...Henry should have gotten a year ban and Tank, well he's a punk too. The bengals have been on the NFL's radar but Pacman got the brunt of it, wrong IMO, Pacman isn't a saint but if the commish is going to hand out bans, he should be fair about it.

Convictions should add more to a players sentence...
