Raiders CB Nnamdi Asomugha Best Cornerback In NFL Per Rod Woodson

The six-year pro has blossomed into a top cornerback after starting his NFL career as a safety. A long, rangy athlete with exceptional instincts and awareness, Asomugha suffocates elite receivers with his superior cover skills. Whereas most top corners play in a zone-based scheme, Asomugha is one of the few capable of shining in a bump-and-run defense that rarely provides safety help over the top.

Nnamdi Doesnt get enough exposure because he plays in oakland. A Football fan wouldnt know the difference between him or a big name like Champ Bailey or Ike Taylor. Guys who know more about the players and the game can say the things that simple football fans cant see.

This is true but I don't know anyone who watches football regularly that doesn't know he is the best.

The thing I think people don't know much about is that he is a class act as well.

I know you responded to this one nate but I think he deserves props again.

I think it's the title. If it just said Rod's top 5 CB's I wouldn't think anything of it. It's worded as if it's some Rod breakthrough.

Fact is we heard all last year how amazing Asomugha is from the media, and he is amazing, and deserved every bit of exposure. Even fans like my pops who only really follow his team via local paper (Skins) know who he is after last year. It's no longer a secret he is the shutdown corner in the league.

I'd like to see him traded.

I think Pioli could talk Al into it.
