Clemson wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, the Tigers' second-leading receiver, suffered a mild concussion in a car accident on Tuesday morning and did not accompany the team to the Discover Orange Bowl in Miami this week.Hopkins, a sophomore, was driving from his home in Central, S.C., to Clemson Memorial Stadium to meet his teammates for their bus ride to the airport to fly to Miami. Hopkins suffered a mild concussion in the accident, but does not have any other serious injuries and hopes to join the team soon, according to a school spokesman.Further details on the accident were not immediately available."First of all, we are relieved that DeAndre is going to be all right," Clemson coach Dabo Swinney said in a statement. "He is lucky. We are told he does not have any serious injuries and we hope to have him join us soon. Obviously, DeAndre is one of the main parts of our offense and this would be a big loss if he is not able to play. But it is too soon to speculate one way or another on his status for the game eight days from now."
