Gouveia-Winslow, an Ashburn native and former All-Met defensive player of the year out of Stone Bridge High, will have surgery next week after an MRI exam on Thursday confirmed the extent of the injury. Redshirt junior Alonzo Tweedy now moves into the starting lineup. He had eight tackles and a sack against the Hurricanes after Gouveia-Winslow left the game following a tackle on a Miami fake field goal attempt in the first quarter. Gouveia-Winslow struggled last year but showed improvement throughout the offseason and won his starting job back for this season. Source The Washington Post | | |
