Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher switched his attention Wednesday to the season’s first opponent after one final glance at his team’s last scrimmage of the preseason. Fisher and the sixth-ranked Seminoles could be without their leading rusher and possibly a veteran offensive lineman or two for the Sept. 3 opener against Louisiana-Monroe. “It’s game week now,” Fisher said after the Seminoles finished their second team scrimmage. “It’s time to go.” Most starting positions have been locked up, but injuries could lead to a couple of changes. “There are guys that we’ll have to bring along as we go for depth,” Fisher said, adding that the last scrimmage would help give him “a pretty good indication” of who would be ready to help against Louisiana-Monroe. The second-year head coach long ago settled on junior EJ Manuel at quarterback, but several starting positions—including running back and tight end—were still unsettled after Tuesday’s final scrimmage.
