The Seminoles outfielder and football receiver was drafted by the Cubs in the 27th round of the major league baseball draft ealier this month. Late Thursday morning, multiple reports surfaced indicating he was signing and had just informed coaches on both teams that he was ending his playing careers. Although Easterling just graduated this spring, he had one year of athletic eligibility remaining in both sports. This past season, he has been believed to be the first person in ACC history to have played in both the ACC football championship and the ACC tournament baseball championship in the same academic year.
