Bobby Bowden Say's It's Not Possible To Run A Completely Clean Program

Legendary former Florida State head coach Bobby Bowden doesn't have to deal with the pressures of big-time college football any longer. Although he wanted to coach one more season in Tallahassee, Bowden enjoyed an illustrious career leading the Seminoles to national prominence, and he doesn't have to worry about NCAA allegations, violations or sanctions while he enjoys retirement. With Ohio State's program in hot water, Bowden discussed the Buckeyes' situation this past Thursday with Chuck and Vince on KDUS in Phoenix. “No,” Bowden replied, without hesitation. “And by that, I don’t mean that some coaches purposely try to break the rules.” Bowden went on to say that a big reason for all of the trouble in college football is that there are too many rules. Bowden, whose coaching career ended following the 2009 campaign, also says he doesn’t miss college coaching all that much. “When I retired a year and a half ago, I could just feel the pressure come off my shoulders,” he said. “I didn’t have to worry about boys, I didn’t have to worry about ‘are they getting in trouble?’, I didn’t worry ‘are we gonna sign John?’, I didn’t worry about ‘is this girl pregnant?’, I didn’t have to worry about the two o’clock phone call. It’s a lot of pressure, boy, when you get out of it.”

I think that's probably true. Some of the NCAA's rules are really fucked up and hard to understand.
